1 Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum required information to register you in our Gurukul portal, deliver course materials, process fee verification, and grant official certification:

• Student Identity Information: Full name, chosen Student Login ID (Username), gender, and prior spiritual/astrological experience.
• Contact Information: Active email address and WhatsApp/mobile phone number for admission notices, class links, and student support.
• Account Credentials: Strong login passwords, which are cryptographically salted and hashed using standard bcrypt algorithms before being stored. Plaintext passwords are never accessible to our administrators or staff.
• Course Inquiry & Notes: Optional background notes, educational questions, or study goals entered during admission.
• Payment Transaction References: 12-digit UPI Reference Numbers / UTR IDs, Razorpay Order IDs, and Razorpay Payment IDs.
• Uploaded Payment Receipts / Proofs: Screenshots or PDF receipts uploaded by students during UPI checkout to verify fee transfers.

2 How We Use Your Information

Your personal data is strictly utilized for educational and administrative purposes:

• Provisioning and maintaining your personalized Student Learning Portal account.
• Verifying fee payments against official banking and payment gateway records.
• Enabling access to recorded video lectures, live Google Meet sessions, and study PDFs.
• Generating and issuing authenticated Gurukul completion certificates.
• Communicating critical schedules, syllabus updates, and live Q&A notifications via WhatsApp or Email.
• Preventing fraudulent access, duplicate enrollments, or unauthorized account sharing.

3 Payment Processing & Third-Party Service Providers

• Razorpay Software Private Limited: When you select online checkout, Razorpay handles card, netbanking, and wallet transactions. Razorpay processes your financial details under its own privacy policy. We only receive verified order IDs and cryptographic payment signatures to confirm enrollment.
• UPI Direct Bank Transfers: When you pay via UPI QR, your payment is completed directly inside your own banking application (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, etc.). You provide us solely with your public 12-digit UTR reference and receipt image for administrative reconciliation.
• Google Meet (Alphabet Inc.): Live webinars, chart analysis, and Q&A sessions are conducted via Google Meet links. Attendance and meeting participation are subject to Google's standard security standards.

4 Data Storage & Security Measures

We deploy robust organizational, technical, and physical security measures:

• HTTPS / TLS Encryption: All browser-to-server data transfers are protected with 256-bit SSL encryption.
• Isolated Upload Directories: Uploaded payment proof images are stored in protected directories with direct server script execution disabled (.htaccess deny execution rules).
• Strict Role-Based Admin Controls: Only authenticated Gurukul administrators can review submitted payment screenshots and student records.
• Sanitized Inputs: Web requests are filtered against cross-site scripting (XSS), SQL injection, and CSRF token tampering.

5 Cookies and Local Storage

We utilize standard functional cookies solely for essential portal operations:

• Session & Authentication Cookies: To keep you securely logged into your Shishya Dashboard across browser tabs.
• CSRF Security Tokens: To prevent unauthorized cross-site request forgery attacks during enrollment and login.
• We do not sell student data, nor do we run aggressive third-party ad retargeting trackers.

6 Data Retention Period

Student accounts and lesson completion logs are preserved for as long as your course enrollment remains active to guarantee your continuous lifetime study access and certificate verification. Financial transaction receipts and invoices are retained as required by statutory Indian taxation and auditing laws.

You have the full right to inspect, update, or correct your personal information directly inside the My Profile section of the Student Portal. If you wish to deactivate your student profile or request data removal, you may write directly to our privacy officer.
